Welcome to Mingli Elementary School, located in the beautiful rural setting of Tianzhong Township in Changhua County, Taiwan. At our school, we are proud to have a student body of 81, making us a small and close-knit community.
At Mingli Elementary School, we place a strong emphasis on sustainability and environmental consciousness. We are proud to be a part of the Eco Schools Global project, and we strive to educate our students about the importance of taking care of the planet.
In addition to our academic curriculum, we offer a range of extracurricular activities for our students to participate in, including sports clubs such as croquet, ping pong, and badminton, as well as a dance club. We also have our own piece of farmland, where students can learn about agriculture and see first hand how food is grown and harvested.
Our school is known for its exceptional agricultural education program, and we are dedicated to providing our students with hands-on learning experiences that will stay with them for a lifetime.

On November 12, 2024, students and teachers from MingLi Elementary School went on an exciting trip to Tainan City where they explored two of the city’s most famous cultural landmarks: the Chimei Museum and the Ten Drums Cultural Village. Before the trip, English sentences were introduced for the students to practice.

The day began with a visit to the Chimei Museum, one of Taiwan's largest and most renowned museums. They posed for a group photo outside the famous Chimei Museum, enjoying the beautiful view.

The children also explored the Ten Drums Cultural Village, a vibrant and dynamic destination that highlights Taiwan’s rich cultural heritage through music and performance.

The students participated in interactive drum workshops, where they learned how to play traditional Taiwanese drums, a hands-on experience that delighted both the children and their teachers.

The students also took part in some outdoor activities and had a great time exploring the beautiful surroundings. It was a memorable day of learning and adventure for everyone!

On September 20, 2024, students and teachers at MingLi Elementary School joined the nationwide earthquake drill to remember the 9/21 Earthquake that happened in Taiwan in 1999.
At exactly 9:21 A.M., the school bell rang to begin the drill. Teachers and students quickly did the "Drop, Cover, and Hold on" steps. Everyone left the building calmly and went to the safety area in the oval.
The drill, which is done every year, helps the school to teach kids how to stay safe during earthquakes. Taiwan is prone to many earthquakes, making this earthquake preparedness essential.

This summer, students at Mingli Elementary School participated in the "Summer Fun Learning" camp, exploring their community while enhancing their English skills. They visited various local spots, including a charming café nestled in the rice fields, where they enjoyed delicious snacks and practiced ordering in English. The camp also included a visit to the nearby high-speed rail station, where students learned key terms related to the station. They also visited a cucumber greenhouse, where they discovered the challenges of farming, especially during harsh weather. Lastly, the students tried their hands at pottery at Tianzhong Pottery, enjoying the creative process on pottery wheels. Throughout the camp, the students had a great time, gaining both knowledge and confidence in using English to talk about their hometown. It was a summer they will always remember.

On the afternoon of May 1st, the teachers at Mingli Elementary School participated in a workshop on making aroma soy candles. With guidance from instructor Alina Huang, they carefully placed flower petals into jelly wax, positioned the candle wick in the center of the cup, and mixed soy wax with fragrance before pouring it into glass containers. This hands-on workshop provided a wonderful opportunity for the teachers to relax and enjoy a creative activity. By the end of the afternoon, they had crafted beautiful and practical aroma soy candles, making it a rewarding experience for everyone involved. This memorable event not only enhanced their crafting skills but also fostered a sense of accomplishment among the teachers.

On December 13, 2022, students and teachers at Mingli Elementary School had a lot of fun participating in an event where they made their own scarecrows. Before getting started, a teacher gave instructions on how to make a scarecrow, using hay, poles, and old clothes to create colorful and unique designs. The students were able to use their creativity and follow the instructions to create their own scarecrows. The event allowed students to learn about farming and the importance of scarecrows in protecting crops, all while having fun and expressing their creativity. Overall, it was a successful and enjoyable activity for all who participated.
